Child Passenger Safety Seat Checks
It is estimated that as many as 90% of all child safety seats are installed incorrectly throughout the country.  The purpose of these free child safety seat checks is to give parents an opportunity to ensure that the seats they use for their children are being utilized properly.  The seat may not function properly if it is not installed in the way that the manufacturer designed.
Our officers undergo a week-long training to be certified as Child Passenger Safety Technicians.  They learn how to identify and install the hundreds of different types and styles of child passenger seats.  In addition, they learn which seats are appropriate for what age groups.
Various businesses and organizations sponsor these events, approximately once a month, throughout Joliet and sometimes into Will County.  Often prizes are distributed, along with goodies for the children.  Organizers try to make the experience fun for both the parents and the children.  Click here to check our website for upcoming events.  If none are listed, or you would like to see other events throughout the Chicagoland area, they are listed at another separate site.
It is important to bring your child with you to these events, to ensure that the seat is set for the correct person.
