Sector Comparison

The City of Joliet Police Department now has different sectors.  When comparing the sectors below, keep in mind that crime rates are influenced by many factors, including population and zoning.  A higher number of incidents in a certain area may be the result of more residents, the presence of a hospital, or popular business sector.  Below are number of each type of reported crime for the first six months of 2007.

As discussed in each of the individual sector pages, calls for service are not a good measure of the crime rate, but rather can be used as another method of describing the police activity in various sectors.  Below is a comparison of calls for service and reported incidents for each sector.
